Conversion dropped. Find the step, then find out why.
Dashboards show that a number moved. Scrutinizr finds the funnel step where it moved most, then creates a short survey for exactly the customers in that group, so the data and the reasons sit side by side.
Why this is hard today
Guesswork
Teams change the wrong part of the funnel.
Wrong signal
Analytics cannot say why users left.
Slow answers
By the time anyone asks customers, the moment has passed.
How Scrutinizr does it
- 01
Connect data
Upload CSV or connect Google Analytics, Stripe, HubSpot or PostHog.
- 02
Find the drop
Each step is compared with the previous period.
- 03
Ask the group
A “why” survey is created for the customers who dropped.
- 04
Track the fix
Re-run monthly to see whether the change worked.
The result
- The step with the biggest drop and its size
- Customer reasons for that step
- Suggested next test
- Monthly comparison
Example: trial to paid
Trial-to-paid fell from 14% to 9%. The survey of non-converting trials showed most ran out of trial before importing data. A longer trial for teams with large imports recovered most of the drop.
Good to know.
Does this prove the cause?
No. It shows where the drop happened and what customers say. Test a fix and check whether the number recovers.
Do I need a data warehouse?
No. A CSV export works.
Can it run every month?
Yes, with a monthly cadence that compares each run with the last.
